Just as the roots of an apple tree
grow deep, the Hurds have planted new roots in Agri-tainment! Seeing a
golden opportunity in recreation and hospitality, our farm enjoys hosting
an agri-tourism operation during the months of September and October.
1994 the Hurds opened a Dutch threshing barn among the scenic orchards
on Route 32, to provide folks with a "Day in the Country" and
a first hand farm experience. Now Hurds Family Farm is family friendly
specializing in educational school
group tours, birthday parties, family
reunions, church and youth group outings, more and more company picnics,
and motor coach tours.
Winner of the New York State Agritourism Award in 2003.
New York State Century Farm Award in 2005.
Many local people are proud to be in our employ, and are considered "family" too!
