Rules & Farm Policies

        We are a working farm and orchard.  The safety and well being of your family is important to our family and staff.  For your safety, please observe the following guidelines:

  • All apples must be harvested into pre-purchased Hurds Family Farm bags. Do not climb trees, do not shake trees, and do not break or remove branches.

  • Pumpkins must be purchased and stickered before exiting the farm. Do sit on or roll pumpkins. Large pumpkins should not be carried by the stem.

  • All other flowers and produce cannot be picked without prior permission.

  • Wristbands for activities must be worn on wrists and visible at all times.

  • We reserve the right to inspect packages, bags, and containers.

  • Friendly dogs are welcome. They must be leashed at all times, and owners are responsible for cleaning up after them.

  • We may, from time to time, without prior notice and without refund or compensation, restrict access to parts of the orchard or close activities.

  • Visitors under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a chaperone older than 18. 

  • We are a Smoke-Free Farm, No Smoking or Vaping on the Property

  • You may picnic on the farm. No alcohol or glass containers.

  • Tents are for private events only. No tables on the farm can be reserved for more than 30 minutes unless they are part of a scheduled rental.

  • Please keep our farm beautiful and be considerate of others by taking turns at activities and depositing trash in designated receptacles.

  • Read and follow all posted signs.

  • Wear appropriate attire for hiking outdoors and come prepared for the weather.

  • Climbing apple trees or fences is not allowed.

  • Irrigation ponds are off-limits.

  • Radios, bikes, skateboards, scooters, motorized vehicles, and grills are not permitted at the farm. Playing ball is also prohibited.

  • Shirts and shoes are required at all times.

  • We reserve the right to escort to their vehicle and off-property any individuals or groups acting in ways deemed harmful to our animals or the farm or impinge upon the enjoyment of the farm by other guests.

  • Weapons of any kind are not allowed on the property.

  • Hurds Family Farm is not responsible for personal property loss, theft, or damage.

  • Please refer to the updated business hours for the day of your visit.

  • For Private events, the farm closes promptly at the end of your scheduled visit.  All vehicles must be off-property by that time. 

  • Items that are in specific areas must stay in those areas.

BEFORE STARTING YOUR ON-FARM ACTIVITY, YOU ARE REQUIRED TO READ THE POSTED WARNING TO VISITORS AND VISITOR RESPONSIBILITIES SIGNS TO LEARN ABOUT: The risks inherent to participating in on-farm activities; and Your responsibilities when participating in the activities on this working farm.

  • The solicitation of visitors, or the selling of any items is prohibited.

  • Visitors may be filmed, photographed, or recorded by Hurds Family Farm or authorized guest for educational and promotional uses, including for posting on the HFF website and social media platforms and print advertisements without compensation to the visitor. Please inform the HFF staff if you would prefer to not be photographed.

  • Non-commercial photography for personal use is allowed. Professional photographers must contact our media department at information@hurdsfamliyfarm.com for permission to take photos. Any photos taken and then posted publicly must credit Hurds Family Farm as the location.

  • Any type of drone flying is prohibited without explicit permission from the farm.

  • If you see something that concerns you please tell a Hurds team member.
