Playing card games has always been a tradition for this family. Phil & Susan's parents played bridge to socialize with their friends. Along the way we kids learned an exciting & engaging game called" Kings in the Corner"!! Not as academic as bridge, but just as much fun. The BEST part is all generations play together. Susan's mom taught us one summer at our family's camp at Lake Pleasant in the Adirondack Mountains.
It caught on like wildfire and we've shared laughs with many generations from 5th generation 95 year old Elizabeth Hurd to 7th generation Jurni Abigail Hurd.
We "bet" you a bushel of your favorite apples that your family will Go Wild over "Kings in the Corner" as you bond over the good natured competition!!
How to Play:
Deal 7 cards to each player.
Place deck in middle and turn 4 cards over & place cards around the deck pile.
The idea is to be the first to get rid of all the cards in your hand.
When it is your turn, pick a card from deck in middle and play as many cards as you can.
A few rules to keep in mind.
1. Put the kings in the corner
2. Build down in numbers with alternating black and red.
3. If one of the 4 spaces becomes free, fill it with any card from your hand.
The first person to get rid of all the cards in their hand yells
"Kings in the Corner" and is the winner for that round.
