Santa Claus is Coming

Sunny and breezy with a high of 34 and 3 inches of snow expected tomorrow. All of the Hurds elves are preparing for Santa's skydive and our winter Christmas Tree season. Santa is expected around noon on Black Friday, here is what you can expect when you come to join in the FUN. Make sure to follow us on facebook for event updates from the North Pole. Hurds Family Farm is really the best place in the Hudson Valley to get your Christmas tree, wreath, and other Holiday Decorations.

The weather on Black Friday really determines what kind of activities we can have available. The plan this year is to have the cow train, giant slide, obstacle course, and bouncy pillow all included in one wristband cost of $7. Kids under 3 are FREE but must be accompanied by someone with a wristband. If it is too windy, rainy or snowy and Santa is unable to drop in we will also be closing all activities except the kids corral playground. The kids corral is FREE and will be open in any weather every weekend from November 23rd to December 16th.

Santa's skydive kicks off our winter season where we have Christmas trees, wreaths, and other evergreen decorations available for you to take home. There are thousands of trees to choose from in our two Choose and Cut Christmas tree patches. We also have plenty of grab and go precut trees available for you to take home starting at $25. All Choose and Cut Christmas Trees are $65 which includes a hayride out to the patch for the whole family, use of our handsaws, complementary bailing and drilling for tree stands. You are also welcome to BYO saw to harvest your New York State Christmas Tree. Susan and her team make wreaths from the greens in our patch, handmade bows and a variety of decorations. There are also smaller handmade table top evergreen decorations that will bring the smell of Christmas into your home.

Our winter store is filled with your favorite farm to table goodies from the fall. As well as some new winter additions like maple candies and flavored nuts. On Black Friday we cook up a big batch of our homemade apple turkey chili, but that is the only day of the Christmas season that we have food available. All winter long you can enjoy hot cider, cold cider, coffee and hot chocolate while you take a hayride out to the Christmas tree patch. There are snacks and other treats like our homemade fruit leather and Karl Family Farm's jerky if you need a boost of energy before heading to the patch.

Make sure to check out the other Christmas Carol themed special events and kids activities that we have all winter season long. Please let us know if you have any questions we would love to help you plan your trip to the farm this Winter. Contact us for wholesale Christmas tree pricing.
